Matthew Carroll

Suck Valley Farm

Matthew is a farmer and consultant with knowledge and interest in the wool sector. Following a successful career abroad as a Project Manager in the Construction industry, Matthew returned home in 2019 to take up a role on the family sheep farm on the Galway/Roscommon border.

He founded Suck Valley Farm to market quality produce from the family farm directly to customers. As part of an MSc in Agricultural Innovation with research focussed on the Irish Wool sector, Matthew became involved in the founding of The Galway Wool Co-op, carrying out a feasibility study and funding application on their behalf. Drawing on his experience in industry, education, and farming background, he provides consultancy services within the Agri industry alongside the running of the family farm.

Matthew has recently project managed a Review of Market Opportunities for Wool Based Products as part of The Agile Executive Consortium for the Department of Agriculture, Food, and The Marine and is currently working on a number of Wool related projects. Matthew is also a commercial sales agent and consultant to Farmermobil GMBH, a leading manufacturer of mobile poultry housing solutions.
